Title: Automated GUI Testing and Code Coverage Analysis for Qt and Qt Quick Applications

Abstract: In this showcase, froglogic will do a technical presentation of its Qt QA tools. This will cover the Squish for Qt GUI Tester to automate functional UI testing of Qt, QML and Qt Quick applications. In addition, the Squish Coco code coverage tool will be presented allowing to analyze which code of the Qt application has been tested.

Title: KDE <3 Qt - Aleix Pol

Abstract: We will present the impact KDE has on the Qt Community as well as other Open Source and Technological communities. Furthermore, we'll define how we can all work together to build a thriving project that can push ventures forward regardless of its nature, from both technical and social points of view. The KDE Community has been around for years and added value in many places in Qt. Especially during the last year, KDE has had a growing impact when contributing to Qt, thanks to the Qt Project. This has made both KDE more agile when it comes to solving upstream issues, and also made the KDE contributors more conscious about solving issues in Qt itself, rather than solving them on our end, therefore improving Qt as a product.

Title: Intel Automotive Innovation and ICS – From Zero to Amazing in Nine Weeks

Abstract: In this presentation ICS will discuss how, together with Intel®, we successfully produced a sophisticated, modern IVI system with a rich user experience using Intel's powerful new product family of In-Vehicle Solutions. This talk will touch upon the future of IVI for the auto industry and the strategic significance of having the right team in place to develop your solution.

Title: Showcase - a phone for traders- Jesper Pedersen & Thomas MacGuire

Abstract: If you have been by the KDAB booth, you might have seen the IPC phone for traders, which we have on display. The phone was developed in co-operation with KDAB back in 2011.

The IPC phone is running on an embedded board, which is rather resource constrained, so during the development we had to jump through some interesting hoops. Come to this presentation and hear Thomas McGuire and Jesper Pedersen tell about some of these hoops, and see them demonstrate the phone.

Title: Developing IoT solutions with Qt Technologies

Abstract: In this session, Adeneo Embedded and Freescale walk you through the process of developing embedded devices with advanced graphical capabilities leveraging Internet of Things type of scenarios. Combining the advanced application development possibilities of Qt technologies with the connectivity and graphical performance capabilities of Freescale i.MX6 application processor allows developing smart connected objects. Using an existing project done by Adeneo Embedded, this session illustrates in a practical case the implementation of Qt based graphical application in cloud connected environment, allowing machine to machine communications along with advanced usage scenarios based on data analytics.

Title: Map & Navigation solutions for QML - Bogdan Vatra

Abstract: Let us take you on a fantastic journey of map & navigation solutions for Qt, done KDAB's way!

In collaboration with Route 66 we've brought their map & navigation engine to QML world, which allows us to create breath taking, eye-candy apps for you! We are going to present you unique features that you'll not find in other existing map & navigation solutions!

Title: Advanced graphics of QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.6 - Bernhard Kockoth, European Automotive FAE, QNX Software Systems

Abstract: Bernhard Kockoth of QNX Software Systems will discuss how to develop advanced graphics with the QNX Neutrino RTOS 6.6. He will cover how QNX’s technology:

  • Delivers a compositing windowing system that integrates multiple graphics and user interface (UI) technologies into a single scene for display
  • Allows developers to use the graphics technology they need: Qt 5, HTML5, video, or OpenGL ES
  • Supports multiple graphical inputs and multi-touch input control
  • Supports window groupings
  • Provides efficient and streamlined APIs
  • Implements a high-performance graphics architecture

Title: Square pegs in a round hole - how to be agile and reliable at the same time - Kalle Dalheimer

Abstract: This talk is about unifying two seemingly conflicting requirements of a software consulting company: Customers expect reliable, predictable, documented software development, but they also expect their service provider to actually get stuff done, on budget, on time, and without leaving a big, unusable mess behind.

I will retell the tale of how KDAB achieved its ISO 9001:2008 certification while never losing focus on employee productivity and happiness and the pervasive spirit of getting things done. This will include how to overcome initial skepticism from developers who do not like to be told how to do their work, and how to build a quality management system that actually increases productivity rather than stifling it.

Title: Qt Migrations - Jesper Pedersen & David Faure

Abstract: Migrating from Motif, MFC, or Photon to Qt sounds relatively easy right? After all they are all C/C++ based toolkits so most if not all of the business logic can be lifted over. Similarly, migrating from Qt3 to Qt4 and further on to Qt5 should be simple, right? After all, it should just be about adjusting a few minor syntax differences, right?

The answer is unfortunately: No the migrations are not trivial. What is even worse, at face value it looks simple, which leads you into a never ending spiral of frustrations. In KDAB we have helped many customers with their migrations, and have developed a rich set of tools for this.

In this presentation David Faure and Jesper Pedersen will discuss our processes for migrations, show some of our tools, and explain how we may help you with your migration.
